Day 3 of free - lancing! (although technically its neither free nor does it involve lancing). I've finally decided what direction to take my blog in. Initially I was just going to use it as a collection of ramblings about my day, but I’ve now decided to use it a bit like a chronicle of all the things that I'm doing, mistakes that I make and new tools that I learn.

I'm even thinking of maybe adding some "how to" guides about SEO somewhere down the line. That would be fun wouldn’t it!! Maybe we can have online SEO parties. Or maybe instead of a flash mob we have an SEO mob, where several thousand SEO type people all turn up at the same place and then all start suddenly talking about SEO at the same time....ok maybe not then!

Going freelance

Here we go, today is the big day! After working 6 month full time for GetBiz as SEO and CPC manager, I have decided to make the big leap and become a freelancer.

Luckily, GetBiz has accepted to keep me on duty and let me manage their online marketing. I had a nice chat with James, the MD at GetBiz who told me that it didn't make any difference to him whether I was a freelancer or a permanent staff as long as I kept up with delivering outstanding results, which obviously I committed to!!

So, now, I am a free man, a free lancer! Not sure really where it will go, may come back in a month time and ask GetBiz to take me on again in a permanent position, but I think that it is worth the try.

This blog will be a way for me to track what my new life as a freelancer is like, and hopefully inspire others to follow the same steps....
